Seagreen Offshore Windfarm – Carnoustie to Tealing
Seagreen, a joint venture between TotalEnergies (51%) and SSE Renewables (49%), is poised to become Scotland's largest and the world's deepest fixed foundation offshore wind farm. Its wind turbines generate electricity offshore, which is then transmitted via around 40 kilometers of subsea export cables to Carnoustie. From there, about 19 kilometers of underground cables carry the electricity to the Tealing substation, connecting it to the National Electricity Network for distribution to homes and businesses. Nexans was responsible for installing these underground cables, which crossed major infrastructure like the East Coast Mainline railway, the A90, A92 roads, and various watercourses.
